Spring 2002: My ears were bleeding from listening to Head Trip in Every Key every night on the headphones all winterlong. When word got out that the new guy, Sam Powers, would be writing a few songs for inclusion on the new Superdrag LP, I lost my shit. No fucking way! This is John Davis' band!, was my yowl! Little did I know that one day I would consider some of Powers' numbers some of my favorite all-time Superdrag songs.
It's a shame LP #5 never came to fruition, as they would've become the three-headed singer-songwriter juggernaut that would have made Teenage Fanclub puke all over themselves.
Here's one from Sam..
Superdrag - "Stu"
